There are several sports clubs currently running as part of the Old Ignatian Association. If you’d like to get involved with any of the activities you can contact us for more details or approach the individual clubs themselves. There are links to the relevant websites below and on the Links page of this site.
The football club currently runs 5 sides on a Saturday as well as a Vets team on a Sunday. Since moving to the Loyola ground the number of Ignatius schoolboys and recent college leavers joining the ranks has greatly improved. It has also meant that we can organise numerous social events throughout the year ranging from 5 a side competitions to poker nights. The rugby club currently run 4 adult sides and numerous junior and mini sides ranging from under 7/8’s up to under 17’s. They are based at Donkey Lane and also hold numerous social events. Although there is no official golf society there are many Old Ignatians who enjoy a round of golf. That said there is one date in the Ignatian calendar where the golfers have a chance to shine, wine and dine, preferably in that order! The intriguingly named Shinpad Challenge pits the golfing prowess of Old Ignatians against their old rivals Old Aloysians.
